Something many of us can agree on, the disqus upgrade sucks!

Disqus switched to the new version of Disqus on 11/12/14. There is no option to "switchback" to the older version of Disqus. Tell Disqus what you think about the new version at,

https://disqus.com/home/channel/discussdisqus/discussion/channel-discussdisqus/everyone_is_now_seeing_the_same_updates_to_disquscom

Personally I don't like the new version. It's clunky, there's too much white space, and the navigation is horrible. Voice your two cents to Disqus.

  1. There #1 priority seems to be forcing the story graphics down our throats, even at the cost of functionality.

I really wish I could see their site traffic numbers. I know my own post-count is down.

  2. Excellent post. I couldn't agree more. Disqus really sucks now. It has gotten worse.

  3. It would be great if they had an app for disqus. I found an article about a windows app but no iPhone app.

  4. I agree that does seem to be their #1 priority. I don't get the story graphics. I don't get how this is important. It seems like society is moving away from the written word and more to info-graphics.

  5. My guess is that it is supposed to provide added value to disqus-subscribing sites by more prominently promoting their content.

  6. I understand that but if the users of disqus are not happy with it and the use of disqus declines it sounds like it might backfire. I guess I get sick of hearing "value added." They're trying to "improve it" but it's worse.

  7. If I upvote you at NRO does it show up?

  8. Weirdly enough, you can still upvote. We occasionally see upvotes from trolls banned months ago.

  9. Like for example me? I do like to read the threads and upvote if I like something. My way of saying hi. Just asking because I saw your post about owning a tuxedo. I think that's cool. For women its owning a great little black dress.

  10. P.s. I may not agree with you but I like your writing and will upvote for that. :)

  11. Just thought I would pass this along. You can now remove followers. How cool is that? It was posted at the "discuss disqus" channel. (https://disqus.com/home/channel/discussdisqus/)

Here's how to do it: https://help.disqus.com/customer/portal/articles/1771646-remove-a-follower

    Have a happy Thanksgiving holiday!

  12. You, too. Eating is the best thing about this time of year. I once had a crown come off on Thanksgiving. Ruined the entire holiday. People may say it's about friends and family, but it's a lot less fun when you can't stuff yourself with cranberry sauce and candied yams.

  13. Happy Thanksgiving to your and your family!

  14. I hope you and your family have a Happy Thanksgiving!

  15. Same to you. Thanksgiving is a big event — the one holiday when most of my family can be together. As the child of Bostonians, my experience of Thanksgiving was traditional to a fault, even including oyster stuffing. Do you give yours a Greek spin or is your observance strictly from Miles Standish?

  16. Wow! Oyster stuffing. Exotic stuff.

We are pretty "All American" on this uniquely American holiday, except our stuffing has chestnuts, meat, and a few unusual spices that hint at our Greek ancestry.

I save the heavy ethnic stuff for Easter.

Have a safe weekend! (I'm swamped at work today, so this is my sole email).

  17. I can't wait to eat a homemade turkey dinner tomorrow. Tonight I'm thankful I made the drive from Mpls to Sioux Falls without ending up in a ditch. We drove through a snow storm, white knuckled all the way. On to Denver tomorrow.
